Acer TravelMate Timeline 8371 Six Cell Battery Notebook

Earlier this year, Acer has been one of the first companies to take advantage of new Intel Culv in creating ultra-portable and affordable. Ensure good performance and battery life, we were thrilled by the script Acer Aspire 4810T and gave it a recommended award. However, one thing that struck us in the end, was that he was very conservative – almost as businesses – in its appearance. Now Acer has translated the formula to a laptop genuine business, it’s time to see if it works equally well.

Although the scenario Aspire were sober enough, Acer has yet seen fit to refine the design to give business more like the air. He has not done something dramatic, it just made the cover of aluminum and plastic body a slightly darker shade of gray gun barrel, improved the design of the logo and removed brilliant touches, but changes are quite beneficial. There’s just something about the darker profile chassis that fits best.

In common with the Aspire 13.3IN version, the 3810T, the TravelMate 8371 lacks an optical drive. This could be a problem for some people, but when the USB key, online downloads and other forms of media have become so prevalent, does not have an integrated optical drive is becoming less of an issue. If it is really a concern of a disk drive may be worth considering, or if you prefer an embedded player, the TravleMate 14.1IN 8471 (cousin of 4810T) that we offer.

What the 8371 lacks an optical drive, it compensates for portability. With its six-cell battery, it weighs only 1.65 kilograms, which, although not entirely of feathers, is a nice weight for any laptop. Obviously its dimensions help portability, too. Through 323.6mm It will make more than a backpack and it is reasonable 25.3mm at its thickest point, therefore, relatively thin as well.

While the chassis 8731 and all basic features are largely similar to its counterparts of consumers there are one or two differences. Most notable is the lack of an HDMI output, ejected in favor of a shipping dock. There are a plus, although the form of a fingerprint reader nestled between the two buttons on the touchpad. This is not paired with a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) is also common on many business laptops, but this is probably due to cost constraints to meet the aggressive price tag – a mere 710 pounds.

This is a very good price for an ultra-portable business, most of which have always held the upper price ranges of £ 1,000 bonus and sometimes £ 2,000 or more. This £ 700 or if the 8731 average price can be economically distributed to mobile workers who may have suffered a little practice time with bricks, people will appreciate something a little more refined!
