Apple AirPort Express Amplifier WiFi
The USB port lets you connect a USB printer to the unit AirPort Express and share it either Wi-Fi or Ethernet. More interesting perhaps is the audio jack, which allows music stored on a PC or Mac to be streamed – using what Apple calls AirTunes – the AirPort Express and the output to an amplifier or a set of ‘active speakers from iTunes.

Cleverly, it is both analog and digital output, so if you’ve ripped your CDs to your Mac or PC in the Apple Lossless (FLAC is not supported in iTunes, remember), you can listen This lossless music around your house. Since the AirPort Express wireless can also be used as a range extender for an existing connection, it is possible to have a few scattered throughout the house while connected to different speaker systems and the dissemination of different music.
The result is similar to the functionality of a Sonos system but at a fraction of the cost. And since this whole business is managed from iTunes on your Mac or PC, this means that there is the added advantage of controlling the free Remote application for iPhone and iPod touch. In addition, the compact design makes this solution very discreet. [via trustedreviews]
