Asus U80V 14in Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 NoteBook
With all the shenanigans Eee PC, it is easy to forget Asus notebooks also normal. Today we are looking for a new model, which as yet has not confirmed the availability and prices in the United Kingdom. As such, we are giving the practice on the treatment to see how things are going well.
Glancing at the spec-U80V suggests, which is based around a 16:9, 14in display, are not interested in functionality. Title of things is an Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 running at 2.66 GHz, one of the mobile processors faster, you will find. This is supported by 4 GB of RAM and 512 MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570 graphics card. As this is a preview, we have not managed our usual benchmarks, but suffice it to say what should be a system very fast.
Of course, as for the sale U80V, its speed will depend in large measure on the configurations available, it is therefore more appropriate to look at the characteristics common to all systems. No doubt the highlights here is the backlit keyboard, but also the backlit keyboard. While we have become accustomed to seeing the former, the latter is a new, even for us.
This backlight takes the form of lots of little dots that appear on a line where you touch – see our video demo for an overview of this. It is also multi-touch support, so that when you pinch your fingers in the now familiar mode to zoom in and out, two lines are lit up to track your movements. It seems funky, even if there is no escape from his little practical value: it looks nice enough.
As for the implementation multi-touch is better than some Windows laptops we saw. We appreciate that Asus is using the same two finger scrolling gesture like Apple, which is very fast and convenient way to scroll through documents and Web pages. However, while the size of the keys on the Apple MacBook and software are optimized for such gesture controls, Windows and the standard medium size multi-touch pad does not always captured by the charm of Apple.
