Canon EOS 500D 15.1 Megapixel CMOS Digital Camera

Canon tactics in the face of this increased competition was to increase the number of models of its own line, adding additional levels to the traditional hierarchy beginner through professional. With the EOS 1000D (380 pounds) now serves as the foundation for entry-level range, longest triple-digit series was promoted to a more modest role of intermediary connections between 1000D and EOS 50D (£ 720), while the new EOS 7D (I’ll be reviewing Saturday) took the leading role of Canon APS-C cameras.

Canon EOS 500D 15

Within this range, rethink, in March this year, Canon launched the EOS 500D, upgrading and replacement of the popular EOS 450D last year. According to his new role as advanced amateur 500D is loaded with features, including 1080p HD video recording, DIGIC 4 and the same fast and powerful 15.1-megapixel CMOS as the EOS 50D. It currently sells for about £ 580 including the base 18-55mm f / 3.5 to 5.6 image stabilized EF-S kit lens.

The EOS 450D is a very successful model for Canon, with such unique accounting for about 15 per cent of sales of digital SLR cameras worldwide last year. However, the camera market is volatile and highly competitive, and buyers are considering a EOS 500D will also be looking at the Nikon D5000 (12.3MP, £ 515 inc. Lens Kit), the Sony Alpha A380 (14.2MP, £ 490 inc. Lens Kit), the Pentax Kx (12.4MP, £ 600 inc. Lens Kit) and the Olympus E-620 (12.3MP, £ 580 inc. Lens Kit).

They could also consider the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 Micro Four-Thirds Camera (12.1MP, £ 455 inc. Lens Kit). The 500D has more features and a more powerful sensor than any of its immediate competitors, and the price is far from being exorbitant in comparison. At first, then the Canon certainly looks like it might be a little more than one market, and believe me they are words I never expected to write. [via trustedreviews]
