Eizo Foris FX2431 Monitor Black Plastic Mat Monitor
Eizo is a name that commands respect instantly. Indeed, it is a company that has not really bad products, the types of products that cost more than ordinary people are willing to part with. While the FX2431 Foris, which is marketed as a high-end multimedia and gaming display, is less expensive than the company bleeding edge professional effort, to just under £ 900 is still display most people do dream.

Given the price, it is not surprising to find this display is stuffed to the gills with circuits of high quality, premium VA panel and loads of connectivity. However, if this is clearly a consumer product, it still Eizo usual industrial research design. It is a great, chunky monitor fully finished black plastic mat, and not the type of monitor you the grace you show.
This is not the style icon, but it is impressive in its quality of construction, which is completely different league to most observers, even those that cost £ 400 or more. Despite its weight to stand with 10.5 kg (8.1 kg without), it remains very stable and well planted.
This is not necessarily the most adjustable screen, though. It is not, for example, have built hub in the stand, but in all other respects, it can not really be faulted. It runs on the stand 172 degrees left and right, tilt up to 35 degrees and five degrees down, while the height adjustment range is 24cm.

Much of its stability can be attributed to an unusual mechanism for adjusting the height, where the monitor slides up and down on the rails. This is not the easiest to use the system, you enter the screen with both hands to move up and down, but once in place, it is not moving!
Being a good 24in monitor with a 16:10 aspect, the FX2431 usual sports 1920 x 1200 native resolution. While statistics can be misleading, especially when the monitors are concerned, on paper the VA panel ticks all the right boxes. It is rated at 360 nits brightness and a native contrast ratio of 1,000:1, boosted to 2,000:1 dynamic mode. The latter figure is pleasantly realistic, avoiding the kind of ridiculous claims some manufacturers choose to do.
Response times are shown in 6ms gray to gray and 16ms black-white-black, two typical values and not too low. Finally, there are 96 percent color gamut Adobe RGB, which is what you’d expect from a high-end LCD CCFL backlit like this. [via trustedreviews]
