Epson 0.52-inch LCD Electronic Viewfinders Camera

Epson has developed a high-resolution color LCD for use in professional camcorder viewfinders which is only 0.52 inches diagonally, offers 1.56 megapixels of resolution and uses a filter to prevent color breakup that occurs often during the early registration of moving objects or panning. Demand for high-definition video have seen an explosion in the number of different camcorder options that are available. At the same time, the desire for greater portability is also increasing, leading to devices smaller and smaller and lighter.

Epson has responded by producing a high temperature polysilicon (HTPS) TFT color panel that measures just over half an inch diagonally and is clearly intended to be used in the LCD viewfinders on professional camcorders. QHD resolution (960 x 540 pixels) in the offers of red, green and blue, about 16 million displayable colors to a total of 1.56 million pixels and a contrast ratio of 280:1.

Epson claims that using a belt filter RGB color, its latest addition to the series UltraMicron panel is able to prevent the “bursting of the color that tends to occur with other color systems when shooting fast moving subjects and while panoramic “and” the ability to re-create smooth gradations and natural sweetness. Samples of the panel L3F05Q-80200 are currently sent to customers and the product will be exhibited at the International Exhibition of Equipment Broadcast in 2009 to be held at Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan, from November 18th to 20th.
