Epson EH-TW2900 DLP Full HD Digital Projector

Currently seems to be a damn fine time to think about buying a projector budget. In hot on the heels of very respectable budget projectors, DLP Full HD Projector and BenQ is a little star just as much from Epson: the TW2900. The first thing to say about 1100 pounds TW2900 is that it uses the LCD than DLP technology – a fact which will become very important in terms of performance, as we shall see later.

The other up-front about the TW2900 observation is that a unit is much larger than we are used to find the budget end of the market. In fact, it occupies the same footprint as extremely impressive flagship Epson projector, the TW5500. This might not endear it to people who want something they can take around to friends or put into storage when not in use. However, the cinephile in Digital can not help hoping that the size reflects an uncompromising approach to the optical projector and cooling systems. In any case, the TW2900 is really its bulk rather charming, like a cheerful white finish and bold painting big lens do their best to hide what is essentially a sculpture pretty basic.

Rear TW2900 plays host to a number of respectable connections, including more rigorous two HDMIs. Plus there is a 12V trigger for driving a motorized screen, and an RS-232C port for system integration, alongside the more typical S-video/composite video / D-Sub PC option. Setting up TW2900 immediately reveals a surprise welcome but seriously: the projector keeps the wheels and the horizontal optical image transfer “on its upper edge that we also loved both the TW5500.

This is extremely helpful when it comes to position your projector, even if you have a seriously odd-shaped piece to work. It should also save people who want to use a budget projector from the back of their hall of shame of having to prop the rear end of the TW2900 in magazines – people something like that would probably do with the W1000 BenQ and Optoma HD20. There is an important aspect of picture quality with optical image move as well. To be able to move around the image optically, especially up and down, there is much, much less chance that you’ll need to use a keystone adjustment to obtain the edges your photo looking straight. And no adjustment has no way keystone distortion from your digital photos. [via trustedreviews]
