EZY MyXerver MX3600 Single Drive Networking

The only concession is the use of a single drive, giving the MyXerver itself no redundancy. However, in a home environment, you have little chance of storage to work from your network attached, but rather strips of data on a PC (or PC) in height. As such, if the hard disk in the NAS or breaks your computer, the data still should not be lost (unless the two drives fail simultaneously, which, admittedly, is pretty damn unlucky). The MyXerver is available in capacities from 500 GB to 2 TB of storage, which should be large enough for the average household. In addition, the 1TB model I tested costs about £ 130, which is not too expensive at all.

The MyXerver is relatively compact and premium seems too stylish, even if the blue LED status are getting a bit old now. The MyXerver is a fanless system so that it produces only noise is the hard drive, which, even on a desk is barely audible – always a bonus. Connectivity is minimal, with an Ethernet port and power jack clearly necessary and the only other entrance to a USB port for quick backups to the system.

Set-up is pleasantly simple. With MyXerver connected to your network, the software tool will find it, you can rename and map a network drive. Any other configuration uses the web interface, which is a bit old school look, but does the job. By default, the entire drive is shared, but you can create as many spaces as there are shared spare capacity to create, open to any number of users. [via trustedreviews]
