Fujifilm FinePix XP10 12 MP Waterproof Digital Camera
The Fujifilm FinePix XP10 waterproof digital camera was placed in pre-order from Amazon recently. Currently we do not know the shipping date, but we hope it will in the coming weeks because of pre-orders are taken.
The FinePix XP10 has a 12 megapixel sensor that allows large images to capture. The device is also robust thanks to its protection against water, cold, shock and dust. This protection allows it to be used in extreme circumstances without the worry of the camera Recover broken if dropped in water or dust it touches.
Other features include a 5 times optical zoom which has a reinforced protective barrier on the lens. The camera can capture movies in HD format with a resolution of 720p, which includes sounds caught it. [via gadgetvenue]

One week after buying this camera I pulled it from my pocket and removed it from its soft case to take a picture. The LCD screen was broken under the undamaged clear protective window, which makes it now virtually useless as I can’t see to change any settings or even to see if the subject is in shot. I don’t recall bumping into anything or stressing it in anyway. It’s marketed as “Best for any WILD activities, the FinePix XP10 is shielded etc or This protection allows it to be used in extreme circumstances without the worry”. My pocket contains no extreme anything as far as I am aware. The LCD is not covered under warranty and in Australia the minimum charge is $120 plus parts making it uneconomical to repair, the camera costing A$249.
