Hitachi Global Storage Technologies SimpleDrive 2TB External Hard Drive

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies introduced its new design SimpleDrive external hard drive with capacities up to 2TB of storage. The new SimpleDrive gets an elegant anodized aluminum enclosure and office is located vertically to a non-invasive fingerprint. The news comes SimpleDrive 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacitive, which costs $ 99.99, $ 129.99 and $ 249.99 respectively. The players include Hitachi Auto backup software.

Hitachi has also announced that its 3.5-inch retail are now available in capacities of 2TB, including 2 TB SimpleTech Pro Drive by Hitachi with four interfaces – USB 2.0, FireWire 400, FireWire 800 and eSATA 3 Gb / s, and the SimpleTech Duo Pro Drive by Hitachi with two drives into one that supports both RAID 0 and RAID 1 settings. All these 2TB external hard drives are based on Hitachi’s Deskstar 7K2000, the industry first 2 TB 7200 RPM hard drive. [via itechnews]
