JVC HD Everio GZ-HM400 Digital Camcorder

The detection of Core Image for this camera is a 1/2.33-inch 10.3-CMOS sensor with RGB Bayer Color Filter Array. This results in clear advantages to digital photography, 9-megapixel stills are possible without any need for interpolation. For video, image processing, high speed of 5.3 million effective pixels used by the results of the Super Premium HD Gigabrid Engine II’s high-band processor in 1080 TV lines of horizontal resolution – the theoretical maximum level of 1920 x 1080 Full HD. Moreover, the 24 Mbps recording capability of this engine (UXP mode) – the highest speed possible for the AVCHD video – provides detailed images with smooth motion.

Optically, the JVC GZ-HM400 camcorder features a Konica Minolta HD Lens, which provides a source of high-resolution images. But perhaps more remarkable is the JVC developed an optical image stabilizer that uses two prisms assets to correct camera shake at the entrance of the lens before the image enters the lens. The two prisms, compensating in the horizontal and vertical directions, to provide the same efficiency throughout the entire zoom range from wide to telephoto.

On top of the camcorder are three buttons, “A”, “S” and “U” for selecting shooting modes. “A” selects the Aperture Priority Setting, “S” to select the shutter speed, and “U” is user assignable, allowing users to assign their own frequently used settings for that button. Located next to the lens barrel controls for brightness and manual focus, simply switch a toggle switch to select either the brightness or focus, then turn the adjuster manual in the desired direction . This “analog” type of control offers a more intuitive operation and allows refinement of both parameters. Furthermore, when used in conjunction with the SET button, the same dial allows easy adjustment for various other functions with a simple menu free. [via letsgodigital]
