Kodak EasyShare Z950 10 Megapixel Sensor Camera

The Z950 has a much more compact-looking body than the Z915. It is made of plastic, of course, but build quality is fairly good apart from a few creaky joins a hurry, and a battery hatch without lock. It lacks the flash tower of the old model, making it a little smaller, although in reality it is actually a few millimeters wide and approximately the same thickness.

Kodak EasyShare Z950 10 Megapixel Sensor Camera

Back in July I reviewed the Kodak EasyShare Z915, a reasonably priced camera with 10x zoom compact zoom lens and a 10 megapixel sensor. Despite its AA-powered bulk and look a little awkward that it was a very decent camera and a very good value for money.

It’s a little clearer if, thanks to the presence of a lithium-ion battery instead of the two AA batteries power the Z915. The body shape is pleasant and comfortable to hold thanks to a handful on the front and an inch shaped grip at the rear, both of which are coated with rubber for better grip. The controls are simple and accessible and large enough buttons. This is worth considering if you have limited manual dexterity.

For a competitive price from £ 199.99 own Kodak Web site, but available for under £ 180 is to shop online, the Z950 is for the buyer who really wants a TZ7 Panasonic but can not afford afford. The specification is impressive for the price. It features the same compact 10x zoom, equivalent to 35-350mm, such as the Z915, but with a higher resolution than 12 megapixel 1/2.33-inch CCD sensor and a larger three-inch 230k LCD monitor. It has roughly the same range of features and options than the Z912, but adds the crucial now mandatory HD video recording. [via trustedreviews]
