Lenovo ThinkPad X100e 11.6 Inch Netbook
Lenovo invited a few eyebrows raised when they introduced what is essentially a Culv their ultraportable ThinkPad line with the new X100e, leading to all sorts of questions about whether an AMD Athlon Neo could satisfy the professional segment. On the Netbooked they have reviewed the single-core 1.6GHz ThinkPad X100e, and while the physical design should not cause too many sleepless nights for a long time lovers of Lenovo’s performance leaves much to be desired.

The keyboard and trackpad are apparently “the best” reviewer Peter Cartwright was used on a machine of 11.6 inches, the screen mat and win points as Lenovo. The AMD in May is not a central, but it’s good enough to play 1080p, but there is no HDMI output to easily connect a widescreen TV.
This is not the only problem, the 6-cell battery is great, but manages only 3-4 hours of runtime, the bottom of the X100e becomes very hot, and overall performance – at least until the dual-core Athlon and Turion processors arrive later in 2010 – nothing better than a regular netbook. For $ 449, we’re not entirely convinced, but frequent typer should probably give the X100e a look. [via slashgear]
