Ovi Maps Popular Devices Navigation

OVI Maps recently just become free, allowing navigation to be used in the world for free. As might be expected, the number of people downloading Ovi Maps risen sharply and that Nokia has reported, the software has been downloaded more than 1 million times in one week. With over one million downloads per week, almost 2 per second continuously for 24 hours a day.

“This is great news for our third-party application developers. In a few days ago an installed base of over 1 million active users eager for all potentially new and innovative local-aware apps, “said Anssi. Conversations Nokia announced that the top five countries by downloading the free browser were China, Italy, United Kingdom, Germany and Spain with the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia N97 (both regular and mini) , Nokia N97, Nokia 5230 and Nokia E72 are the most popular devices to install the software.

The results are quite amazing and shows how people have great interest in the phones can handle Ovi navigation charts. From next month all new Nokia phones will come with satellite navigation installed outside the box. [via gadgetvenue]
