Ricoh Aficio GX e3350N Similar Printer
The Aficio GX e3350N is like a second-generation machine, although appearing much the same as previous models. It includes duplex printing as standard, relatively high yield cartridges and a turn of speed which could be separated from the pack.
It’sa big machine, inkjet, but although it looks different, the design is quite similar to recent models from HP and Epson. For example, the paper feeds on a single plate in front, containing up to 250 sheets and output tray molded into its coverage, which turn 180 degrees during the process. An optional 100-sheet multipurpose tray can be mounted at the rear of the printer to take special media. The four ink cartridges slide in holders behind a folding cover on the right and are connected to a printhead broadband via flexible tubes.
The control panel includes a 2 line x 16 characters LCD, no backlight, but it is still relatively easy to read. There are nine buttons to navigate menus and key functions, such as paper feeding. The whole panel hinges to lock in two alternative positions if it makes it easier to read screen. Are back to USB and network sockets, although exceptionally the USB plug is placed high on the rear panel, leaving the cable hanging. Setting the machine up involves plugging in the four ink tanks, loading the tray with paper and install a driver from the supplied CD.
There are drivers for Windows and OS X, but Ricoh makes no mention of Linux support. Speed is one of the highlights of the official website Aficio our five-page text document filled with black in 34 seconds, a speed of 8.82ppm. The 20-page document increases slightly to this 9.84ppm, but the most interesting result was the five-page text in black color graphics test that hardly slowed at all and gave 7.89ppm.
