Western Digital VelociRaptor Next-Gen Hard Disk Drive

Western Digital hard drives next-gen VelociRaptor is made form factor 2.5-inch, but available 3.5-inch frame (IcePack reloaded) with a heatsink compatible backplane, which reduces operating temperature. It connects to a computer via SATA 3.0 (up to 6 Gbit / s). It has also implemented a number of technologies WD, including NoTouch to reduce wear and preemption Wear Leveling.

The next hard drive WD VelociRaptor is the working speed of 10000, a latency of 3 ms to 37 dB noise level, the transfer rate 145 MB / s, MTBF 1.4 million hours, cache and 32. It will enter into 150GB, 300GB, 450GB and 600GB capacity. Western Digital VelociRaptor hard drive is designed primarily for use in workstations, servers, desktops and fans. The WD hard drive will be available later this quarter.
